Rules for labeling dietary supplements have been developed
The Ministry of Health has developed Rules for the labeling and traceability of biologically active food supplements using identification means.
The rules define the procedure for labeling and traceability of dietary supplements using identification means in order to ensure the functioning of the product labeling and traceability system in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Health believes that the introduction of these rules will ensure the effective functioning of the product labeling and traceability system in the republic, which in turn will positively impact state budget revenues by increasing the transparency of the supply chain for goods entering the country.
Mandatory labeling of dietary supplements is a priority, the implementation of which will allow:
reduce the volume of illegal trafficking;
increase tax collection;
create equal competitive conditions in the market.

Mandatory digital labeling of dietary supplements in Kazakhstan is planned to begin on September 1, 2026. A pilot labeling project was launched in 2025 to strengthen control over their circulation, with over 20 participants.
Labeling of dietary supplements is carried out:
when producing dietary supplements in Kazakhstan – at the places of production of dietary supplements before shipping the goods to your warehouse;
when importing dietary supplements into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from countries that are not member states of the EAEU to the territory of third countries, before importing into the customs territory of the EAEU;
when importing dietary supplements into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the EAEU member states - outside the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, before importing from the EAEU member states.
Mandatory labeling is intended to ensure that every buyer can verify the legality of a dietary supplement through an app.
