Special Precautions for Use
a medical diagnosis is required before starting the drug treatment in children 2-4 years of age with persistent or recurrent cough.
if dyspnea, fever, or purulent sputum occurs, consult your physician or pharmacist.
patients with gastritis or peptic ulcer should use the drug with special caution.
in children < 5 years of age, concomitant use of the drug and any substrates of alcohol dehydrogenase, in particular, ethanol, may cause adverse events.
although there is no evidence that propylene glycol can cause toxic effects on reproductive function and embryofoetal development in animals or humans, this substance can reach the fetus and has been detected in milk. Therefore, the appropriateness of taking propylene glycol-containing products during pregnancy and lactation should be considered on a case-by-case basis.
patients with impaired renal or hepatic function require medical supervision, as there are known cases of various adverse events associated with the use of propylene glycol, in particular, renal dysfunction (acute tubular necrosis), acute renal failure, and hepatic dysfunction.
