Regions of Kazakhstan to start exchanging missing medicines

Medicines will be redistributed between regions and medical organizations, Kazakhstan's Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova reported. According to her, this will help eliminate the shortage of drugs that has arisen in some regions.

Behind the scenes at the Majilis, journalists asked how the department plans to solve the problem of the shortage of medications for Kazakhstanis with diabetes.

"We have the ability to transfer medicines both from one territory to another and between medical organizations within one region. We are ready to deal with each case separately," the minister responded.

According to Alnazarova, the procurement of medicines for 2025 began two months earlier than usual. She claims that by December 25, 2024, 95% of all necessary drugs had already been purchased, and their shipment is actively continuing. The minister also emphasized that additional reserves have been created so that patients are not left without treatment.

“Medical organizations have reserves, and a minimum two-month supply of medications is provided for outpatient treatment,” she said.

In addition, Alnazarova called on citizens to report problems with medications.

"Each case is under control. If there are specific facts, we are ready to work on them promptly," the minister added.
