Specialists identified a new way for HIV treatment

A group of researchers from Northwestern University in the USA reported that they managed to find a new way for HIV treatment. This is reported by Science Advances.

Usually, HIV infection is treated with the help of antiretroviral therapy. It suppresses the replication and spread of the virus, but is not able to completely rid the patient of the disease. The point is that the virus can hide inside immune cells. A new treatment method is based on the forced activation of a latent virus so that the body's immune system and antiretroviral drugs identify it.

Scientists have already received a new iPAF1C medical product, which enhances the efficiency of medicines to search for HIV. The medicine was tested only on the blood of four infected patients so far.
