Will medicines become more expensive in Kazakhstan due to the rising dollar exchange rate, the Ministry of Health answered

Vice Minister of Health Yerzhan Nurlybayev answered the question of whether prices for imported medicines will increase due to the rise in the dollar exchange rate in Kazakhstan.

"They won't be more expensive. What SK-Pharmacia buys from us will definitely not be more expensive, because the prices are regulated and approved. For imported (medicines. - Ed.) too. All medications that are sold in Kazakhstan have maximum prices that are approved by the Ministry of Health," said Yerzhan Nurlybayev on the sidelines of a meeting of the public chamber of the Majilis.

According to him, the department has not yet received any requests to revise the prices of medicines. The vice minister assured that the cost of drugs will not change until the end of this year.

He also recalled that next year, the new order of the Ministry of Health No. 207, regulating approaches to pricing, will come into force. According to the document, there should not be high markups on the cost of drugs.
