Over the past three months, patients have received medications based on 1.7 million prescriptions via QR codes in the project for electronic drug distribution via the "Social Wallet". More than 700 medical organizations across the republic are participating in the project. This was reported by the press service of the department.
According to the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, the use of the “Social Wallet” ensures transparency and accessibility in the area of providing citizens with medicines, eliminates illegal circulation, counterfeiting and other violations.
"People receiving medications as part of outpatient drug provision, including people with chronic diseases, now do not need to waste time making an appointment with a doctor to get a paper prescription; a nurse can issue the prescribed medication herself without queues. For the elderly or other people who cannot use the services of the state service "Social Wallet", when visiting a clinic, it is enough to undergo identification using Face-ID and webcams, after which the prescribed medications will also be issued to the patient." - the message says.
To obtain a prescription for a drug issued as part of outpatient drug provision, the patient must go to the Social Wallet mobile application, where he can see all his prescriptions (active and inactive). Then he should go to the pharmacy and present the QR code of the prescription. The medical staff in the information system will scan the QR using a barcode scanner and issue the medicine. In this case, there is no need to keep paper prescriptions.
The advantages of electronic drug dispensing include:
- storing a complete history of receipt of medicines,
- the ability to assess the quality of the service provided,
- the possibility of feedback through comments, photos/videos,
- the ability to automatically generate an electronic request to an authorized government agency in the event of a very low assessment from the patient.
