The Eurasian Economic Commission and the WHO will approve a three-year plan for cooperation in the field of healthcare.

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved Order No. 154 of October 28, 2025 , approving the draft action plan for 2026–2028 for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and the Regional Office for Europe (ROE) of the World Health Organization (WHO) of October 13, 2021.

The plan proposes to establish cooperation in the area of ​​circulation of medicines and medical devices, which includes:

conducting joint consultations, exchanging regulatory legal acts and information;

participation of EEC representatives in the development of the draft WHO rules of good pharmacopeial practice;

joint participation in events held by the EEC and WHO Regional Office for Europe in the field of circulation of medicines and medical devices.


The plan also includes items such as ensuring the safety and preventing the circulation of food products that are hazardous to human life and health, preventing the emergence and spread of mass non-communicable diseases, and the application of certain provisions of the “One Health” concept.

It is also planned to hold joint consultations on the following issues:

prevention of health problems in relation to human-animal interactions, as well as the exchange of information on WHO scientific research and innovation;

reducing antibiotic resistance to drugs used to treat diseases in humans and animals;

improving measures to prevent zoonotic diseases.

The partners will ensure access to modern healthcare advances for citizens and will work together to provide medical care to workers and their families.

"The Commission's collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Europe facilitates a deeper dialogue with the international expert community, which not only helps maintain existing results but also takes collaboration to a new level," the EEC Board press service reported.
