The Government reviewed the interim results of the system for labeling and monitoring the movement of medicines. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, SK-Pharmacia LLP and Kazakhtelecom.
According to the Vice Minister of Health, Yerbol Ospanov, since the introduction of the system, medical institutions have received more than 16.5 million medicines, and pharmacies - more than 21.5 million. At the same time, they have sold about 12 million packages of medicines.
It is worth noting that the system of labeling and control of medicines allows for remote tracking of the movement of each medicine produced or imported into the country online until they are completely withdrawn from circulation.
"The main goal is to provide citizens with safe and high-quality medicines. Transparent control prevents counterfeit drugs from entering circulation and creates conditions for the Ministry of Health and local akimats to control the level of provision of medical institutions with medicines. I would also like to note that this allows us to track the targeted use of medicines. Therefore, using this mechanism as much as possible, it is necessary to take appropriate measures," Tamara Duisenova instructed.
