Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder characterized by repeated, basically unprovoked attacks of disorders of motor, sensory, vegetative, thinking or mental functions resulting from excessive neural discharges in the cerebral cortex.
According to WHO, up to 50 million people suffer from epilepsy worldwide, but only 25% of them are provided with adequate medical treatment. Meanwhile, modern medicines make it possible to completely free a person from seizures in 70% of cases. Such drugs are effective and low-toxic, do not affect the psyche and mood.
There are more than 45 thousand people with epilepsy in Kazakhstan, about 40% of them are children.
