Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstanis have received over 1 million expensive examinations, such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which were provided at the expense of the compulsory social health insurance (CHI) system, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
MRI and CT are important diagnostic methods that help identify various diseases and pathologies at early stages, as well as assess the condition of organs and tissues.
Of the 500,000 patients who received these services, 45,000 were tested for suspected cancer.
This year, the number of studies has increased by 31.2 thousand compared to the same period last year.
Subject to medical indications and insurance status, the above diagnostic methods are available to patients free of charge.
As the press service notes, since the beginning of the year, about 2 million dispensary patients in the republic have been covered by dynamic observation by specialists from polyclinics, which is 12.7% higher than last year.
As part of their treatment, they received more than 11.6 million consultative and diagnostic services, which is also 8.8% higher than last year’s level.
Regular medical examinations help prevent the development of complications in patients with chronic diseases and select individual treatment tactics taking into account the patient’s characteristics.
